KUCHING: Sarawak Bumiputera Tourism Consortium (SBTC) welcomed a group of 122 young tourists from Tanglin Trust School Singapore last weekend.

The students, aged between eight and 12, were whisked away to visit the very first place they wanted to see in Kuching upon arrival — Astana Negeri Sarawak and State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building.

SBTC chairman Bob Zakaria conveyed the students’ thanks to the Bumiputera Entrepreneur Development Unit (Bedu) in the Chief Minister’s Department for making their visit to the Astana and DUN building possible.

He also said that SBTC was formed on Dec 2013 and Bedu is tasked to coordinate Bumiputera tourism players in the state.

Bob informed that they will give their full commitment by engaging all Bumiputera tourism players to support every programme of the state in increasing the number of tourists coming to Sarawak.

SBTC’s second group of tourists are expect to arrive at Kuching on May 26.
